Reviewing Oates' insights in a repeated game setting

This paper analyzes the optimal assignment of public good policies to layers of a federal system in a repeated game setting. Under a centralized regime, public goods are financed jointly across regions, and a federal legislature decides on the regional quantities. Under a decentralized regime, public goods are financed locally, and governments play a non-cooperative provision game. We find that a centralized (decentralized) regime is more likely to provide the efficient public good policies in case spillovers are small (large). Individual rights and organizational theory

Rights are very important concepts in everyday life. And they are especially important to participants in organizations. Yet, our theories of organization and management have largely ignored rights — stressing, instead, other concepts, such as goals, roles, etc. This article describes the historical significance of rights and their relevance in understanding social behavior. The advantages of a right-based organizational theory (versus traditional goal-based theories) are discussed.This article draws on the author's forthcoming book,A Social-Contract Theory of Organizations (University of Notre Dame Press, 1988).     

Business communities in the European confectionery sector: A U.K.-Finland comparison

This paper is based on the early stages of an international collaborative project investigating the structural changes of the confectionery sectors in Finland and the U.K. over the past two decades. An institutional perspective is used to extend conventional understandings of industries via the development of the sector concept. The network and community constructs are shown to be important devices for understanding the institutional character of a sector. Accordingly, the paper reveals the similarities and differences between the two national examples. An explanation is offered of the way domestic networks persist in both countries while contrasting community profiles are apparent.     

论老年人力资源的开发与利用

随着我国人口老龄化进程的加快,我国空巢老人家庭发展迅速。老年人口已成为我国不可忽视的重要问题之一,如果不及早采取正确的和有效的措施,就会给社会经济发展带来不利的影响。开发和利用老年人力资源实现老有所为,是综合治理人口老龄化的积极对策与战略措施。本文阐述了人口老龄化对我国老年人力资源开发的机遇及挑战,特别论述了老年再就业的可能性和重要性以及因此而产生的社会效应,并对我国的老年人力资源开发工作提出一些建议。     

Sources of Sectoral Growth in an Economy Wide Context: The Case of U.S. Agriculture

Growth in U.S. agriculture is linked to the non-farm economy through domestic terms of trade and factor market adjustments. With almost stable input growth, the relatively large contributions from growth in Total Factor Productivity (TFP) are passed on to intermediate and final consumers in the form of declining real prices for primary farm products. The resulting net growth in the real value of farm output (GDP) is relatively low (0.25% per annum). The decomposition of TFP suggests that public agricultural stock of knowledge and infrastructure are robustly associated with TFP growth, while spill-overs from private agricultural and economy wide research and development (R and D) are positive but, relatively small.

针对危险品物流管理中对安全性的要求,借鉴食品物流管理中对食品安全的预防性管理思想,提出了对危险品物流的采购、运输和仓储等环节采取预防性管理的方法,并对危险品物流管理中采取预防性方法时应注意的几个方面的问题进行了分析.     

我国危险品物流管理对策研究

通过对我国危险品物流的现状分析,指出了加强危险品物流管理的必要性,并阐述了加强危险品物流管理的意义。在对国外危险品物流管理方法进行总结的基础上,分析了我国政府和危险品物流企业在危险品物流管理中的作用和相互关系,并提出了加强危险品物流管理的一些具体对策和措施。     

促进我国物流人才培养

目前我国的物流人才培养还存在很多的问题，而社会的发展急需很多的高水平物流人才。本文探讨了我国物流人才培养教育问题，并提出了“构建教育网络．促进物流人才培养”这一构想。加上多元化教育的配合．将有利于我国培养更多的高素质物流人才。
